About

I am a self proclaimed comic for my family.

Native of Sacramento, California, uprooted to Lehi, Utah in 2019 as most of our family transplanted here also over the last 20+ years.

Engineering leader. 4 kids, 3 dogs, 6 chickens, 1 cat, 1 cow (soon), muscle cars. Everything needs debugging. 🤘👨‍💻🔧 🚗 I also wrote 2 books.

Speaking of writing, I've been writing code since 1995 when Geocities was a legitimate hosting platform and Perl was a personality trait. My first javascript back then was a prompt that asked your name, and I displayed it on the page. It was revolutionary. I may or may not have created Facebook before Facebook too.

25+ years later, I'm still building—just with more tools and worse knees.

I've co-founded startups, scaled engineering teams from 0 to 70+, shepherded products through Seed to Series C, been in engineering leadership since 2006, and managed the kind of technical transitions that make people update their resumes.

One of those startups (EVALS -> Lexipol) exited and is still running nationwide, which I bring up at parties more than I should and why I technically retired in 2017, but lasted about 3 days due to boredom.

Currently

Head of Engineering at a company with nearly ~300k active customers, over $MM in processing and revenue. Huge announcement coming February 2026.

I can also be found writing things on the internet that occasionally make people laugh as I've done for way too long (started: 2004 - 2009, LindseyAndJake.com )

Outside of work, I'm building muscle cars with my kids, boxing, watching sports, and managing a small zoo (4 dogs, 6 chickens, 1 cat, and 1 cow (soon) and a family that tolerates me).

I like building products, mentoring engineers, fixing things that are broken, and having actual conversations with actual humans.

If you want to talk shop, swap war stories, or argue about whether tabs or spaces matter (they don't, use whatever), I'm around.

Art

In 2005, on the side of engineering, I created a clothing company called Eminent Clothing and Illustrious Apparel. I created all the designs and screen printed everything myself. I enjoyed this because it allowed me to exercise the creative parts of my brain. I would later sell this company and business in about 2011.

In 2021, I found myself wanting to do this again. Over the years, I was still creating art (Displate), so I launched Miscreant. I never had any intention to sell this, nor do I still. I simply have it to print my own art so I can wear it still to this day.

Music

I don't like the Beatles. I also don't like U2.
