Boxing Saved Me

Drove past Legends Boxing in Lehi for months before I finally walked in. 2019. Should have done it sooner.

Three years straight. Not "I go sometimes" fitness. Actually showing up. Learning to hit things correctly while your lungs file a formal complaint. That combination of skill acquisition and physical destruction hit different than any gym membership I'd ever abandoned.

Then the accident. TBI means you start doing math on activities you used to do without thinking. Vertigo plus getting punched in the head equals a risk calculation I couldn't justify anymore.

Still have a bag in the backyard. Still shadow box when the body cooperates. It's not the same but it's not nothing.

The thing about boxing nobody tells you, it's not really about fighting. It's about learning what your body can actually do when you stop treating it like a vehicle that just carries your laptop around (Macbook Pro?).
